go drive all of them.. and what do you need in a car... do you need practicallity? do you need or not need a back seat? do you like turbo? do you rather have an NA.... do you have money to fix it if things happen? how much money do you have to spend? yada yada yada....
then you can make your own mind up..
and with your last statement.... "and if possible parts that would improve power by a lot" .... looks like you want something that can give you a lot of power rather easily..... so you can throw out all the cars that are NA....

Yea... basically I'm looking for something that looks good, has power and can be modded easily! I have roughly about $30.000 to play with. I've driven most of them but still can't make up my mind because they are all nice cars. I was really hooked onto the Z3 but now its more the S2000. I have a 94 civic hatch and it has 300.000kms and it has't failed me yet! Its been in the family since it was brand new... but anyways I know Honda is reliable and cheap to maintain and modify... I just wanted more specs on the S2000.
if you think hondas are cheap to modify... the s2000 is gonna give you a nice kick in the ***....
the s is really expensive to mod and basic bolt ons will not do much... without tuning.. there's really no advantage in modding....
you should go with the sti.... however i prefer the evo over the sti..... easy to mod.. practical...

I'm a little late on this thread but I'll give you my .02. )I actually came across it because I am an STi owner looking at S2000s as a possible "next car" purchase in the near future.)
First: drop the TT and the GTi from the list. Especially the GTi. And then glance down to be sure you erased all of it and didn't leave some of the "i" still down or anything.
Honda S2000
Acura RSX Type S
BMW Z3
Subaru WRX STI
Of these I would drop the RSX. Whereas the S2K, Z3, and STi were all developed to be something special, the RSX is a much more common-place car, and therefore, to me, is lacking when compared to the likes of more powerful/fun/weekend cars.
Honda S2000
BMW Z3
Subaru WRX STI
I would not consider a Z3 unless it was an M version, at which point things get expensive. The last year for the MZ3 was 2002, and which point it was blessed with the 313HP S54 motor. (The '01 had this engine as well). These are the most pricey of the MZ3's leaving you with the S52-motored variety that died in 2000. At that point you have a nice balance of price and power... but at the expense of age/reliability/cost-to-own. At 6 years old and a BMW, I looked elsewere... leaving me at....
S2000 and STi

Thats me in the STi. At that point I was entering the twisties at Summit Point and looking forward to seeing what the S2K could do. I was surprised when I stuck to his bumper the entire section and then blew by after Turn 8.
But I now find myself longing for an S2000 as my fun/weekend car. I have a Cherokee that is a perfect DD/Hauler, so practicality isn't that important. But its hard - very hard - to go from a car making 300 at the wheels with enough torque to puch you back no matter what gear/speed - to a high-reving roadster.
For me the question to answer is - just because it has less power will that make it less enjoyable to drive? And what about once SC'd?
Hope my experience in similar decions has helped you in your query!
