Fuel kill switch...relay?
Alright, after reading/searching around a bit I'm still confused as to how a relay...works?
I'm trying to wire up a few kill switches for my fuel pump, and from what I've read so far; a relay really isn't required, but it's safer to install one?
Could someone please explain to me in a nutshell how a relay works/what kind I should be using to wire up some kill switches for my fuel pump/where I could find the relay?
Thanks ahead of time!

A relay basically allows you to use some other function of the car as the switch. For example, you could wire it up such that the fuel pump would not run without the lights on. Obviously, that's a stupid way to set it up, but you get the idea. The switch is the best for the pump, use a relay for something else, there are a lot of other kill switch type things that a relay is better suited for.
Thanks for the quick reply
. Now to wire everything up...
Does anyone know what gauge wire would be optimal for a fuel pump kill switch install? All I really need to do is cut the wire, and splice in a 6amp fuse + a few switches, right? Don't want to mess this one up...especially if it's dealing with my fuel delivery system
.
Thanks!

Use the same size as the factory power line to the fuel pump. Don't remember what it is exactly... maybe like 12 or 10 ga... I just compared it to the wire I have lying around and found one that was close in size.
