Hood latch cable withJDM ITR Front End?
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions/experience with which hood latch cable to use when you put the JDM ITR front end on a 94-01 Integra. The USDM is way too short and keeps the hood latch open all the time and the JDM cable is a little longer but is still pulled too tight and keeps the hood latch open all the time as well. The end result, hood will not close. I was thinking maybe a Prelude or Accord hood latch cable may work because they are longer. Anyone know what to do in this case? Thanks.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Baboofa, do you go to UTK? I think I may have seen your car there if it is a white Integra with the JDM front end. Does the Gen 2 Integra cable have plenty of play (length)? Thanks again.

after doing my front end conversion, i used the 90-93 hood latch and cable. i routed it though the fire wall and into the engine bay. normally it would go though the fender but i did it this way as a precaution. theres about a good two feet left over after routing it this way.

nah, i dont goto UTK.. my integras PY with the conversion.. and if you dont feel like goin with the gen 2 cable, tie the end of a clothes hanger or soem kinda wire into a lil ball.lol then wrap it around your bumper reinforcemtn bar.. haha thats an easy, yet cheap thing to do as well.haha
I had the exact same problem as you before when I got into an accident and my hood latch cable broke. Body shop kept on ordering the cable by my Vin# which kept on coming short about 8 inches. Use a Gen 2 (DA) cable like what baboofka stated and it should fix the problem. Its about 10-12 inches longer. The USDM cable kept on coming short even if I routed on top of the engine bay and not through the fender.
Yeah I ordered a cable from a 90-93 Accord yesterday just to be safe. I thought as big of a front end as that year Accord has, it should have plenty of play. Thanks for the help everyone.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but how did that work for you? Could I use any year accord hood cable, or does it only pertain to certain years?
