Problem with Daytime Running Lights
Actually, do the 97 R's even have daytime running lights? I had a 2000 Integra before my 97 R and that had daytime running lights, do the 97s have it?

What do they look like? Is it just the corner bulb on?
BPR: It's been much longer than since '98. My '93 del Slo had them. I think the first year was around '89 or '90. I remember wondering what the Prelude and Accord were going to do since they had pop ups. I also remember the Tempos having VERY dim DRLs. And I was just starting high school, so it was sometime around then. Actually, my mother's Sidekick had them and that was an '89 I think. Wait a sec...
When you said 98' were you just being cixelsyd? Cuz 98' backwards is '89. Hehe.
The DRLs are the high beams but dimmer. Federal law (at least in the beginning) requires the light to be somewhere between the brightness of the parking lights and the low beams. So most cars run the high beams with reduced wattage because they're more visible for lower power consumption and high beams are not used as often so it doesn't wear the low beam bulbs plus if you're really in a bind and both low beams are burnt you can always use the DRLs with the parking lights which sometimes looks kinda legalish. Yeah.
DOG! I forgot the purpose of the thread! The first thing I'd check is the fuse. I've always pulled the fuse on my cars cuz i don't really like DRLs. Personal pref. I've never been bothered for it because there isn't a law that your car needs to have them AFAIK. The car needs to be sold with them, but it doesn't mean you can't take them off. Maybe not, but I drive a lot and get bothered for no reason, but that's never been the non-reason.

I'm a big believer in daytime running lights preventing accidents. If you've ever driven on a single lane highway, the day time driving lights lets you see cars coming at the opposite direction when you are trying to pass.
Sound like a Canadian thing..........damn canadians
Does anyone have a pic of this? A USDM conversion might be interesting...
tjtruong~who feels safer driving with the lights during the day
