Default ATTN: All ECU gurus and those with OBDI P72's.

Hey guys, I have a dilemma that one of you can easily fix. Currently, I drive a 93 civic hatch with a 00 B18C1 and I am running a 95 gsr ecu. A friend and I finally got the IAB wiring for my car done this past weekend. After all kinds of trouble shooting, we came to the conclusion that the source of the problem was the ecu, it was not sending the proper signal to the IAB solenoid for it to close at low rpm's. Every other function on my ecu works except this. We opened and compared each others comps and we noticed that my ecu had a burn mark on the board and it was missing a resistor, the one that triggers the IAB. So to all those who have installed the Skunk2 manifold, you really do not need this feature of the computer. I would be willing to give you money and my ecu for your ecu alone. I am willing to pay you for something your computer no longer has a need for. Please let me know if you would be interested. My email is guardson.lazarte@saaius.com or call me at (703)981-5241(my cell, on all day and all night) call me at any decent time(EST). THanx in advance.

Because those IM's are really good for high end power. I am getting robbed of low end torque right now. I would have bought the skunk2 a long time ago if it was my track car but daily driving in traffic, you are hardly over 4K RPM's. I need all the torque I can get. Do you know anyone that might be able to help?

uhh..Skunks manifold isn't that bad at all for so-called 'missing low-end torque'.

You should try one out or if you have a friends car with one on there, go for a test drive.

I'm not at all knocking the skunk manifold, in fact I like it a lot. I actually would own one right now but I don't have $300 to spend on something my car is already equipped with. I'm sure people that have this are very satisfied but it's not a mod that's practical for me right now. I figure a lot of 94-95 gsr owners are getting this and I just need one person to trade ecu's with. They have nothing to lose and money to gain, it's a feature they don't use anyways. I appreciate all the help, I just want to enjoy all that my B18C1 has to offer.

nice sig..

I wasn't knockin on you at all. I was just merely mentioning you should try out the Skunk manifold on someone that you know, who already has one (if applicable), and test drive their ride. You'll notice that the low-end torque isnt lost at all. In fact upgrading to the SK2 manifold is bolting on approx. 7hp, if you didnt' know.

But if you want to enjoy your B18C1 w/its factory manifold....that's fine too.

It's all good.

your the master of your domain.

I totally understand your point Katman, right now though, I plan to stay stock since my engine just passed 16K miles. With the money for an sk2 manifold, I can think of at least 10 other parts that are higher prorities. My stock IM just turned 2 years old and still looks brand new. I appreciate all the help, I guess I will keep looking.

Also, B18CivicHB, thanx for the offer but I don't want to rewire my car to OBDII specs. My friend "92SleepR" already wired the IAB to receive a 12V signal from an OBDI ecu and he has the same set-up except for his ecu is flawless.
