Hey guys...today I just started my car....drove about 500 ft and the car died.....so I satarted it again...started for 2 sec then died right away and now it won't start at all...i hear the fuel pump and everything......I have brand new dizzy, brand new alternator, brand new wires....spark plugs are a almost a year old....now my car just cranks and that's it. It doesn't turn over. Cranks really quickly too, so it's not the battery and yes, the thermostat ground is tight and so are the battery wires....can someone help?? is this the main relay? I never changed this before, the car and body has about 200k on it...engine is overhauled just a month ago and it's been running fine since...

 

broken timing belt possibly...

 

Yea definantly check the timing belt, sounds like that could be the prob. Also, take off the cap and make sure everything in the Dist. is still properly tightened down. If it was the main relay you wouldnt hear the fuel pump switching on.

 

yup its not the main relay at all......just got a new one for 70 bux

wiggle your wires and make sure they are pushed down and stop beating on your car.

 

I was going to say check your ignitor coil, but you replaced your dizzy. Check out the fuse box under the steering wheel area. One of my plugs came lose once and my car wouldnt started.

you da man!!!! i love you! LOL it was the damn timing belt!!!
Oh well, I guess I will keep the main relay since it messes up and its not a bad thing to have an extra main relay.....THANX GUYS!!!

 

hopefully your valves arent bent......how many times did you crank your ignition....
