does this look bad?
so my Gf and i are driving on the freeway and we get a flat and the tire shreds off and rolls behind us on the exit, we had to drive on the wheel for about 8 blocks like this, does the control arm or anything look out of whack? and would this of caused it?

im not sure why your upper control arm is bent like that? its almost twisted.
as for that being the cause for your tire blow out, i doubt it. tires blow out all the time, defects, under inflation, debris.. to many to point the finger at.
but if i had to make a guess, ide say it wasn't the cars fault.

the only thing that could bend metal like that is extreme heat. im talking about a set of gas torches, and making them glow. and then bending them.
im not sure if they were like that when installed, but its not normal for it to be like that.
personally my self... since i have the equipment avail. i would take it off, and straighten it.
but if you dont' want to, you could stake a bunch of 2X4's and lower the car onto the drum and see if the arm spins on that bushing and just leave it alone, its up to you.
but i think its going to wear out that bushing pretty fast.

Looks like you are running adjustable camber links.
If so, you can rotate the outer portion to get rid of the binding.Should take only a couple of minutes to fix.
The tire shredding would not cause this.
More likely the arm was not properly installed.
I would be concerned about damage to the outer bushing on the upper arm.
Good luck.

monkey is right.. that arm is adjustable.
now that i look at it closer, you can see that the shaft of the arm, has a nut, an most likely you can back it off, and spin the shaft to adjust length.. so if i were you, ide loosen it, and make it straight, don't spin it, and then just tighten it back down, making it flat and even on both ends.

Good thing you posted then, eh? Saved you time from having to scroll to the bottom...
He obviously had no choice in the matter, since they came on the car instead of steelies, and is getting different rims soon.
Sounds more like a weird tire issue, RARELY do they shred & roll off the rim right away. All my flats have always been a strange slice in the sidewall or a tread puncture. Only seen tires tear off the sidewall & bounce at enduro races (like destruction derby mixed with oval racing).

No we should all ignore you because if your not contributing to the post then dont bother posting anything at all, simple as that.
To the poster there is no reason to have driven on the wheel like that for 8 blocks, you should have stoped and put the spare on Imedietly, unless of course your in the middle of the highway or in a bad neighborhood and your life is in danger. That would be the only aceptable excuse for not changing that tire right away.
The arm is adjustable, that is how alignment shops change something on the rear of the car, It's been a long time since I've done anything like that so I cant remember what exactly it was and dont want to guess and be wrong
just losen up the nut and hold the pipe with a pipe wrench to not throw it off of adjustment or something and your good to go. As for the tire because the rubber stayed on them the rim should be fine as well asuming there was no hidden damage to the lip I dident see in the pics.
And those rims are so so btw nothing special but no where near the ugliest things I've seen on here

As long as it's not bent to hell, which it doesn't appear to be, it'll balance out just fine. I've had to bend steel lips straight (the wheels looked like they'd been dropped from a 10 story building) and been able to balance them.
