What motor came in 92 - 93 gsr?
92-93 gsr cam with the super rare b17 1.7 litter
this motor is the rarest motor honda ever made. rarer than itr's
its basically a stroked b16.
the block it self is in fact the shorter decked b16 block
its really nothing special though. your still better of with a b18

They are 6 spoke 14" wheels, and yes the trannys are shorter(Basically a B16 tranny, but if I remember correctly 1st gear is just a little shorter -3.30 vs 3.21 sticks in my head). Also, I think the bottom end has shorter rods and a bigger crank then a b16 with a b16 head(Again, its been awhile since ive been into this but thats what I remember). It really isnt a special motor other than the fact that it is rare but its the first DOHC VTEC in a Honda that wasnt in an NSX. Im looking to sell mine and the drivetrain and body are as close to mint as you will find. Anyway, most of what has been said is right. The 3rd gen GSRs are probably better cars in my opinion, but when I bought mine I personally knew 5 people with them, and following the trend just wasnt my thing.

Came with 6 spoke 14" alloys which also came on the GS.
Armrest was optional for all Gen2. Seen them on the GS and LS-special as well.
Also look for the VTEC side molding on the fender, higher redline on the cluster, GS-R badge on the rear to the right. B17 aint all that special.

those wheels were optional and they are 6 spokes...they are on ls,gs, and gsr models. a quick way to tell like always is to check the vin and if the chassis code is DB@ then my friend its a gsr.
the b17 is a stroked b16(b16 block and head with a larger crank). it has the shortest b-series cable tranny honda made...its what made the car so fast. its torqe also drops off at a later rpm then the b16 and b18c1 engines.

and the white ones have a red pin stripe that says gsr in it at the rear of the car. only 2000 white ones made in 1992.
my ex girlfriend has one.

Great reply and information boys. I have a 92 GS with the 6 spoke alloys and the b18a. It's my daily driver / winter car. I couldn't find the answer when I searched so I just asked and you all responded with alot of input. Thank you.
