Default 1996 integra rear brake installation...

i'm replacing the rear brake pads and i have been turning the piston clockwise for like 25 minutes now and the piston isn't going back anymore, but when i tried to put it on, it's so tight that i can't even turn it. i could hammer it in but than i'll be smelling brakes forever...

how did you guys deal with this...?

thanks...

found the problem... the new outer pad was too thick for some reason and so it was jamming into the rotor. the inner pad was perfect..

when i took out the old pad the inner brake pad was all chewed up while the outer was in good condiction... anyone tell me what's causing that..?

You need to lube the caliper sliders.

The two bolts from the caliper go into that little sleeve thing with the rubber boot on it.

Well pull that boot off then pull the slider out all the way.

Spray it down with brake cleaner, then put some new grease on it. Re insert it into the caliper bracket, slide the boot on, and push it in and out to lube it up. Then put it back together.

The brakes will now wear evenly. Basically the inner pad was not coming off the disc all the way.
