Driving Without 1 Tranny Bolt?? Would it be ok?
So i'm finishing up putting my transmission back onto my engine. I misplaced a Trannybolt and Can't find it. Would it be ok if i drove without it? (i'm not saying like for a couple of days or weeks.) i mean so i can drive it to go to a shop and have everything check out, to see if i missed anything.
Just to make shure, how long are tranny bolts? I know they are like 3.5 inches long and 17mm for a socket. Am i correct?

If all the rest are in and tight,
You will be fine.
The size of the bolt is 12mm X 1.25mm pitch
Usually aroung 75mm long> total length of the bolt..
The length may vary depending on transmission
and location of bolt/depth of hole..

dammit! i think i mixed up the bolts that i put in my trans. none of them are going in except for the top 2 above the engine. the other 3 arent going in so well. i'll snap pics when my friend comes back from the mall.

just looking at the pics, it looks like you might not have your transmission input shaft lined up right thru your flywheel. that would cause binding and seem like the bolts are not correct. just take the trans back off and play with it a little, don't tighten any of the bolts down all the way before you at least get all of them started a good ways into the holes. do you have your mounts bolted up yet?
nope. i was going to do it but i thought i should put back to tranny. i'll snap some pics if you want. i got a bolt to get in it. but it seems to me that the tranny is about 2 centimeters off from where it plugs in with those things in the engine. i'll snap some pics right now.

I highly recommend you get the trans "butted-up" to the
engine ie;no gap between the two before you start tightening bolts..
When working with aluminum,
You need to be very careful as it strips easily..
Especially if something is in a bind..
PS make sure the trans is in neutral....

yeah same thing with me the top went all the way but therear bootom wouldnt go,
i thought it would force it alighned.. wrong i herd tink tink pop. i took it off and the
pilot bearing was in a whole bunch of pieces. i also had to retap alot of the bottom
bolt holes. Take it off and try again once it goes in its completly flush and easy.
DONT FORCE IT

alrighty. i'll just unbolt the top and bottom, and then best bet is to put it in from bottom to top? i'll try to get some friends involved so the process can be alot quicker. thanks
i'll keep u guys updated on how things go.
