Default Explanation of H emblems on Honda cars and A on Acuras

Ok, stupid question. In Japan, where the people speak and write Japanese, why is it that all Honda cars have an English "H" on the car as the badging? I mean why not the equilivent symbol in Japanese?

I understand the Acura and the A because they are Acura is not in Japan.

The H really confuses me. Thanks

Why are these Japanese companies spelling their company names in English then? Makes no sense...If I open a shop in Atlanta I wouldnt use Kanji lettering...no one would understand it. Maybe its different over there???

when you see McDonalds Signs in other Countries...they are spelled in the countries language.

The girl I am dating speaks Japanese fluently(mother is Japanese).I asked a similar question and she basically told me that aside from car manafacturers names that a lot of tech terms car, computer and electronic stuff are in English. If you ever watch an Options2 vid notice a lot of it is in English. It is hard to catch due to their accents but they use a good bit of English along with some of the titles on the screen.

also, most car manufactuerers names/symbols are considered trademarked 'icons' such as the nike swoosh, so its an icon, not a name or 'H'
