Default Tis the season... to get carbon mirrors fa la la la la... la la la la..

So I ended up getting the Vision mirrors. Have to say, they were made of pretty good quality, altough I might re-clear them...the clear is ehh.... okay.

Question... Should I use the stock O.E gasket on the vision mirrors? Check out the pic below??

Another question, you think I should paint the backing of the mirror to match the rest of the car? The black is kinda throwing me off a bit against the yellow. Check out the 2 pics below.

Anyways, Merry Christmas, I hope everyone had a good one

I'm installing the other one as we speak, I'll get some photos up when I get the passenger side on. The black is kinda growin on me. I was talking to Jonathan (Flux) you have to be super careful not to overtighten the 3 bolts. I heard the plastic not so much crack but a ping sound and i was like oh sh*t so I backed off before the damage happened.

Did you happen to weigh these and the stock units? Just curious about the weight difference between the two.

I vote for painting the black base

Possibly even the whole mirror.

dont paint anything otherwise whats the point, esp the carbon part might as well get the cheapy ebay specials ones if you're gonna paint. it looks sweet as is, otherwise put the stocks back on. if they had genuine motorized ones from vision, i'd bite.

I'm gonna take pics tomorrow in the sun. The black base is growing on me. As for the weight, there's really no difference. A little bit lighter but thats it. I definetly wouldn't paint the entire mirror, I like how it matches my hood, it would totally defeat the purpose of buying such an expensive set of mirrors.
