Anyone running on a completely "polyurethaned" suspension?
I've seen various kits that replace most of the rubber bushings in the suspension arms, sway bars, and even steering rack. Has anyone installed these parts on their R? Please share any opinions you have on doing this setup to a Type R.
Well from what I've been told by guys that have done the total or almost total poly. sus. is it's alot stiffer and you feel the road and bumps alot more but they do tend to squeak unlike harden rubber parts which don't but aren't as stiff. I'm not sure if I would want my car to squeak in everyday driving but it be ok if I was just tracking the car. But I was in car with alot poly sus parts in Integra GSR and it did squeak abit over bumps..but his radio drowned out good bit of it.
It's the moving parts that cause the most squeeking (obviously), like the control arms and other suspension parts. IMO, it wouldn't be worth it to a street car to replace the suspension bushings with polyurethane pieces. Especially an ITR, because the ITR already has harder bushings.
There was a post either here of on H-A about A guy who dicked up his supframe with the ES kit. Something about the bushing not quite being the right size and the extra movement bent the mounting position. I think it was on H-A and got lost when the washed it in NOV.
I have had a complete Energy bushing kit installed before. What a nighmare. takes at least a day. Not worth it to do all of them but maybe just the lower control arm bushings are. Sharpens up response and not much loss i ride quality at all.
I heard that when the polyurethane bends and flexes, it has a lot harder time "remembering" its prior shape. There was a post, I don't think on here though, about the long term effects of the bushings. After awhile, it can feel shittier than the stock bushings due to everything being loose. The looseness a result of the distorted bushings of course. I myself have not had any experience with these though, so I am not 100% certain on the validity of this.
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

in an old car i had the poly bushings, but i hated pulling them apart and greasing them (well, not grease, some moly compound) every 6 months when they started to make noise. in my last car, i had mugen bushings stem to stern and, although expensive, not once did i have a noise problem. most mugen parts are worthless, but the buchings get a
