Default 95 bg33p Timeline

I used to be a "muscle car" fan and in high school I spent all of my money restoring this big turd:

A 1975 Malibu Classic, v8, tons of performance mods, red interior w/some bench seats. It was fun to cruise around in, and still is, but the 350ci v8 made my money dwindle more and more as gas prices went up and up. After investing at least $10k into it, I decided I needed a winter car. I then got this '89 Accord 5spd which turned me on to Hondas:

I beat the crap out of this car daily and I loved it since it wouldnt die and the gas mileage was freakin awesome compared to my land yacht. I still wanted to keep building the Malibu until my friend gave me a ride in his 11sec 91 LS-T hatch. From that point on I was set; I wanted a honda turbo'd car of my own. I debated on what I wanted for a while but then I found a 95 LS teg for $3200 w/129k on it. I thought to good to be true; it actually wasnt, I was amazed. It had its share of problems though... including:
torn motor mounts, mismatched wheels (15 in steelies in the front and 17 in konig holes in the back), ripped drivers side seat and door panel, half ripped out alarm system, cracked rear bumper, coilovers in the front lowered about 3 inches w/the stock springs in the back, rusted out exhaust w/a big fat can on the end, super-dirty interior, half of the speakers had wiring that was cut up going to them, purple tint on the back side windows and mirror tint on the one front side window, a shift **** that was falling off, a broken glovebox handle, a superleaky trunk thanks to the taillight seals, eurolite gauge faces that didnt light up at night, original plugs/wires/cap/rotor, the list could go on....

First thing I replaced was the mismatched wheels with the 16in rims from my accord combined w/some dropzone coilovers to get me by since the coilovers that came on it were broken and I was totally out of money due to just buying the car and it came w/no stock springs.

I then installed some ngk blue plug wires, type r front strut bar (fake), MSD cap, new rotor, and an MSD blaster 2 coil, in addition to a slightly "better" SR pipe. I also invensted in a new alarm system, removed the cruise control, replaced the t-stat, and coolant and rad. hoses, and replaced the brake and clutch master cylinder since both were bad.

from this:

to this (not much of an improvement i know):

After seeing all of the nice cars online w/oem rims, i decided I also wanted some. I found a kid who wanted to trade his mint meshies for my rims so we did a wheel swap. The tires were bald so I replaced them with some Ricken Raptor 195 55 15s which are very sticky for being a long life tire, and cheap. (they're made by some big tire name, can't remember which though)

My friend then gave me some stock corners which I believe made the car look a whole lot better:

I also switched my cluster to red which I think looks alot better than original. I also made the cruise button and clock red. I don't have an extra climate control so I don't know if I'm gonna try to make that all red quite yet.

My exhaust was rusting out so I replaced it with a Greddy Evo type made by OBX. Its held up nicely so far and the welds looks like high quality to me, sounds real good too. Fitment is vg except it sticks out a bit to far... I decided I'll get a twin loop installed eventually and then I'll get it cut down to my liking. It looks like its too low but thats b/c the previous muffler melted up the bumper b/c of the tard who installed it against the bumper cover. In this pic you can also see the red vinyl that "converts" my tails into 98 up all reds.
This pic also shows the steelies and snow tires I'll be using until winter is over. I dont think they look that bad painted gloss black w/some "H" junkyard caps. ALso installed are some mudflaps which have already got ground down about a 1/4 in in the front, they do deflect alot of salt though, i'll give them that.

My major future plans include some koni yellows, a turbo kit, and a cf hood. So far I have the turbo manifold and thats a start at least. I found a VIS cf hood for $200 so that should be bought in the spring, hopefully I'll also have enough for some konis by then. I plan on installing a a/c compatible turbo kit w/a garret t3/t4 turbo and a bunch of other stuff not yet determined or bought.

UPDATE 11/2/06:
After a summer living with my car at the beach...plans change.
I bought and installed some ksport fully adjustable coilovers and I had it riding pretty slammed most of the summer, w/o an alignment b/c I was broke...
Car rode AMAZING and looked even better...too bad I only have one pic of it that's even a little decent from the summer...

Other than that I sold off all of my turbo stuff b/c I fell in love with a Colombian who I'll be visiting soon...

Right now the teg is giving me some trouble...one day the clutch doesnt feel right, so I ended up replacing both the master cylinder and the slave cylinder which were leaking, but now the car still shifts shitty...i'm suspecting the clutch....oh yay, fun job...I'm going with an oem clutch b/c I don't plan to live in the US more than a year longer and I doubt a stiff clutch will make the car any easier to sell. Can't wait to have the tranny shifting smooth again....I LOVE to drive this car!

The malibu was the ultimate high school cruiser. Too bad it didnt have some flowmasters and a 3in dual exhaust, it would've sounded so much better.
Thanks for the comment.

Nice teg... but i would have just turboed the Accord. Those old a20's are begging for boost Iron block, beefy connecting rods, and if i remember correctly closed deck as well.

I know it...If I could do it over again, I would have boosted the hell out of that thing, especially b/c how many of those there are in the junkyard.
Yes, it will stay a very clean car. The only exterior mods I want are an ITR front lip, yellow high beam lenses, some OEM JDM "H" emblems, and possibly some rotas. I'll probably remove that front windshield tint banner, that thing is starting to get real annoying to look through all the time, I also think it looks kinda ugly...
