Default 96 Jdm h22 dyno

Mods: Iceman CAI, STR 70mm TB, Skunk2 IM, DC sports exhaust.
I wanted to get a baseline dyno. Almost all of my parts are here for my stroker build.

OOPS: The title is misleading. The body is a 96, but the engine is a 95 obd1.

Peak Hp: 185.25
Peak Tq: 169.92

Not stroked yet. I ordered several parts (custom pistons & rods) etc... I am waiting to get the crank back from Castillos. This was just a baseline run. I am surprised that the #'s are so high. After I added the Iceman cai, str tb, and s2 IM (intake runners are ported and polished) there was a world of difference in performance.

..........something is definately wrong with that dyno...........definately - the torque is just too high - the hp is kinda high also. A tb and manifold won't do much at all - especially when you don't have cams or anything..............

post another dyno run.

^ I agree, the #'s are high. The run was done on a dynojet. I don't know how that affects the reading. On February 6, I am getting Neptune put on the Lude at Evans-Tuning near Philly. I will post that dyno as well. Then I will go back to Auto-Exotica (in Westerville, Ohio) and dyno again there.

What type of dyno do the members here recommend?

Yes, it is high because it did spike. I understand the spike when the vtec kicks in, but not the spike close to 7k rpm.

I also have Aem Fpr and aem fuel rail. All grounds in the Lude were regrounded with 4 gauge wire. I don't think any of this would help with hp though.

^ I checked dc sports website and did not see any exhaust systems for the Prelude.

Hey KingPin... I emailed you a copy of the dyno. You should be able to enlarge it.

dynojet is a good one, to make sure you have a correct tq #, bring it to different dynojet net time if you go.
i have never seen that tq# with just bolt ons.

the peak tq was around 150...the spike hit 169, it was bc of a misfire or somethat f'ed the dyno up for a second.....thats pretty good hp for a stock header....

edit: did you mean a dc header or a catback??

Yeah, the actual line just approached 150wtq if you zoom in on the graph. Something was up with the dyno regarding those little spikes.

Strong numbers, but definitely belivable.

How much stroke are you planning on running?

The car came with a dc sports cat back system. I put in new denso iridium spark plugs about 3 months ago and custom magnecore 10mm wires. I put in a Moroso distributor with msd external coil.

The header is stock. I am stroking to 2.4L.

Edit: I also put on an UR crank pulley and an aem alternator & ps pulley. Perhaps this is where the xtra hp & tq are coming from.

that's prbly why the numbers are high

i did 2 all motor runs, one in 3rd and one in 4th...after people told me that i was supposed to do it in 4th gear.

i think the difference in hp was liek 11 hp between 3rd and 4th...

but i only got to do one run in 3rd and one in 4th...so i dont if the numbers would have changed on another run.
