Drivin back from AAA to get my ugly new drivers license, Im at the light at the nearby Ford dealer and take a gander to my right and there she was, hunkered down like a puma waiting for the opportune moment to leap ahead at blazing speed: the 2006 GT in special Tungsten Silver with silver stripes.
I pull a U-ie and into the parking lot I go. As I walk in, I barely notice the salesmen and immediately rattle off "You guys know what I'm here for."
Mythical. Stunning. Damn it I'll come right out and say it was orgasmic.
It has been here for four days because the guy who had originally ordered it, won $7-million in the lottery or something, decided INSTEAD to go with the classic Gulf team colored GT with the #37 emblazoned cockeyed on the engine cover and such, so Keating was still left with, oh no!, the Tungsten Silver GT.
I went and ran the rest of my errands, having promised the ladies and gents at Keating that I would return before 6 p.m. - oh yes, I would return.
My dad and I took the drive back, I whipped out the camera and started snapping away, shooting out facts and figures as if I had read nothing BUT information on the original GT40 and the new GT for the past near 22 years.
Heck my heart is still slightly fluttering.
I took as best pictures I could outside the car, from as nice angles as possible, and was about to leave when I asked the GM if I could have him open the door so I could get a nice shot of the interior. He then went on and said "Happy holidays - get on in."
So in respect to the car, Keating Ford and the car gods, I took off my shoes and gingerly sat in the siren of the asphalt sea. I threw the toggle switch for the headlights and fogs, snapped some more pictures and basically melted my way out of the car.
Unreal. What more can I say? So without further ado, here are some of the shots I took (I have all 14 in small, small negative, hi-res and hi-res negatives - just let me know if you want any!)
Happy Holidays

it comes down to "will I ever see this car again, especially since 3000 per year will be made AND 99% of them will likely be in climate-controlled collections for most of their lives?"
likely not - I enjoyed the moment.

Granted, it is a cool car, but i wouldnt be posing with in the dealership

Ignorance really is bliss, isn't it...retard. Not that it has that much to do with anything, but I'd rather work on a Ford over a Ferrari anyday...anything Italian is a nightmare to work on.
