Hey, I bought a 90 cx for a winter beater. I got a sick deal on it, but the car stalls out when you turn the headlights on. I know electrical Qs are hard without looking at the car, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? or any experience with this sorta thing?

mines worst!...when i turno on the light temperature raises and car stalls bad? when i step on the brake..temperature raise too? i was told a shortage somewhere?

 

you must have unplugged your gauge cluster, and shorted a wire, ordidnt add a ground when you reinstalled it, correct?

 

i think it was something like that, cause when i took it in to the auto electrician guy he said he needed to yank out my cluster so he could see wuts going on? he says he is sure its a shortage somewhere? damn LS/VTEC..my car was running fine untill i threw it in!..BUT I KNOW ITS WORTH IT!

 

deff a bad alternator, when i turn mine on at a red light my rpm's fall to like 400, does anyone know what is the most powerful obd0 alternator on a d15? i have the hf one - are the others stronger? (sorry to hijack post )

 

Well, the car was running absolutly fine, and then he hit a poll with it. We found another parts car, and in about 10 hours we had changed the rad support, front bumper, fenders, hood, and the rad. I'm thinking that maybe we burnt a wire welding it back together? Also the right side corner light bulb and the right side tail light blinker is on all the time, regardless of if you turn the signal on, or the hazards, ect.

 

they have high output 160amp alternators on ebay. i'm gonna eventually pick one up for my crx

I have this problem. It acts like my car is going to die and then after a couple seconds it is back to normal. You say that this is a alternator going out?

 

I had same problem wasnt alternator but my main ground was bad

 

Im checking that ouT!..got the problem solved BUT when i take off on first gear my deck dies?! i know its a bad GROUND foe SHO!

 

2 bad grounds fixed, loose battery terminals tightened, one burnt out bulb replaced, and $50 bucks later, the car works freakin awesome

only took my mechanic like an hour to fix it, hes the man, and my gas guage works, and id didnt used to!
