How do i set timing on 1.6L SI D16A6 motor?

Default How do i set timing on 1.6L SI D16A6 motor?

How do i set timing on 1.6L SI D16A6 motor? Having problems and think my timing is way off. And what does the head need to be set at for the timing to match up right. Please help

well as far as I know you would probaly have to take the left front wheel off take a spark plug out of cylinder number one take a extension and stick it down in there and see if you can feel the piston. To do this your going to have to take a 19 mm socket and turn the crank pulley till that pistion hits the extension and then you can look at the cam gers and see if there off when the piston hits cylinder number one thats (TDC) Top Dead Center thats what you want.

what does the crank hve to be set at because i think there is four marks but i dont know witch one to set at or does it matter if i just set it at (TDC)
