Debaiting if I want to get an s2000 or the Rx-8. Just wanna see some pics of a Black s2000 with some Hyper Black wheels with polished lips!
about the s2000 are
gas mileage. 27 mpg
reliabilty
insaine VTEC
9k rpm redline for the older s2k's
RWD
very sporty
240hp
153 ft lbs tq
Endless mods
6spd
Very eye appealing
about the s2000
I don't really have any
about the Rx-8
unique styling
Twin Rotary Engine
183 HP per liter!!!
motor weighs 303 lbs
RWD
4 seats
9k rpm redline
6spd
LSD
50/50 weight dist.
Interior styling
19 mpg
new car, so expensive
insurance
It's a Ford nonetheless
What do you guys think? Hit me up with some pics of s2ks with some black wheels and your input on choice of vehicle. I'm all for Honda but the Rx-8 is something new and well, around this part of NY, something we don't see as often as the s2000.

rx8s are slow poor handling ugly cars do not waste your money on one, **** when they came out they had to recall thousands of them because they had like 40 less horspower then what all the ads and commercials said they did

no way, I'd def love the performance out of the S2000 but Mazda stated like 268hp or some **** like that. I mean I like the way both cars look! And the pics of the s2k up top look very clean! I'm really pushin more towards the S2000 but I guess I'll test drive both and see what I like.
How much do you guys normally pay for insurance. I have a clean record, kinda wanna get some kinda ballpark range here.

sure that wasnt the automatic transmission rx-8 which lost 41hp from the tranny?

not from what i heard from a guy i use to work with, he bought one when they first came out, and like a month later he got a letter from mazda stating they are doin a recal on the car becuase the horspower ratings is far below whats its supposed to be, they either offered him all of his money back or a new rx8 the next year when the problem was fixed

damn that's a kick to the nuts. alright, well I don't have time for that kinda ****, I guess it's def s2k.
Another Question, My d16y8 has blown up, threw a rod bearing. I'm dropping in a b16a and I have plans to fully build and boost it by March. What should I do, just save my money, and just install the b16a stock and sell the car as an Si and hope to get at least 10,000-12,000 for it (Perfect condition, Fresh Paint job, Uncle bens rice isn't found on this civic)( I owe 6 grand still ).
so lets say this
10,000 for the car
-6,000 left for Honda Finance Corp
------
$4,000 left over for me
+2,500 for that turbo kit
------
$6,500 for the S2000
With this 6,500 left over what would you do for the s2000. Keep in mind, I am buying used and hope to find an older s2000 for around or about 15,000. Some are cheaper than others. Mileage doesn't matter because I would rebuild it upon boosting! Would it be smart to to put like 4,000 down and finance for 11,000 with $200 a month car payments or would you take the 6,500 and dump it all into the s2000 for parts.
I do want to turbo it, with all the bottom end parts, ie, rods, low comp pistons, hks headgasket. I'm leaving to Las Vegas in August on a Full Scholarship To the University of Nevada for Music Ed. I plan to find an awesome job playing my trumpet for one of the shows on the strip to make some good money! So finacially I think I'm set. Just wanna get some input, I don't want to make a dumb decision. Thanks for the help guys

it's not about looks but rotory is going to be hard to fix if you plan on working on the car your self. personally i rather fix it myself then spending big bucks at the dealers. i haven't brought any of my cars to a mechanic shop before and i use to work at toyota so i know how bad they rape people for labor

exactly, and DIY projects give you that self satisfaction that you've done something yourself and it makes you feel proud and your wallet still has some green in it! That's all I do now, from the oil change, tire rotations to pulling my own D series motor, removal of the head and all other misc stuff, I think it's fun. I used to work at a shop as a tech and it just made the feeling of working on cars worse, like all it was, was a job. I like having that hobby to work on my own car, and to show off the end result, that "Hey, I did that myself and saved an assload of money" Wereas the guy next to me at a car show spent eleventy billion dollars to have his cold air intake installed.
and to say its not all about looks, I beg to differ. A hot lookin car can pick up some hot lookin bitches!!! Don't ever forget that! lol

Have you driven a rx8? Saying they are poor handling is a bold statement, I've driven one and it felt almost as good as my S.

anyways...maybe we should get some info from someone who knows what they're talkign about
but really, the rx8, because of its sheer weight, or lack there of, is actually a pretty good handling car for a 2+2 "coupe" the one thing that it really lacks, and reason why it really gets whipped on circuits and road courses is that its VERY underpowered. Oh yeah, the 40 hp thing...yeah, thats somewhat true. They DID NOT get recalled though. It was because the cars were making the 40 or so hp less than what the commercials advertised. So they changed the rating (classic mazda overating their engines, but this was really bad) and offered people to either return the cars, or keep their cars but receive a 2k or so refund off their purchase price. I think they actually handlded that situation quite well. And to say that the car is a ford, dont get it...jesus. I guess you could say that jaguars, volvos, land rovers and aston martins are pieces of shiet too because they're all owned by ford. well, i guess u could assume that cadillacs are incredibly unreliable just like gm vehicles...same company right? too bad their reliability and satisfaction ratings are up there w/ lexus, acura, and infiniti and far surpass bmw and mb
