Si Intake Manifold
Will the intake manifold from the 2006 Si fit on other K-series motors? I know that most parts are swapable, but I wasn't sure cause it is a K20Z3. Is it like the Accord Euro R manifold? They look similar but i haven't seen a side by side picture.
Thanks
Thanks
In this month's issue of 'Sport Compact Car,' they mention that the intake manifold off of the new 2006 Civic Si is worth 7-9whp over a traditional K20A2 manifold.
I believe it is in the article where they are building up the TSX to compete with an M3. Skunk2 is the one making the claims.

To tell you the truth, I have no idea. I assume so, though. Not sure if it will make a whole lot more power on the K20A3, though, being that short-runner'd intake manifolds tend to make power at high RPM.
The intake manifold from the Si isnt a bolt on affair to an RSX head. The Si head is identical to a TSX head. different water ports and such at the intake manifold. You can modify parts or find adaptor plates people like HASport are selling.

I read the article in 'sport compact car' and they had to use an adapter plate for the coolant port to make it fit the TSX. Are you saying the intake manifold is bolt on for the TSX and not the RSX? I didn't really understand this 'affair' you were referring to. Will the 06 Si Intake Manifold bolt on to the 02-04 RSX-S for a little more top end power?
Thanks

If you read the article, yes, that is what Skunk2 is referring.

you just need to fit k20a2 head gasket on the Si manifold and cut the rest of so that it can fit on a k20a2 head
Like my motor here..

That is a k20a2 head, tsx block, JDM type R k20a LSD tranny bla bla bla...
Once the manifold is fitted you have to use a accord TB or an adapter plate with a k20a2 TB

what he said ^
here is a better pic of what needs to be cutoff to fit k20a/k20a2 heads

you'll then need an adapter plate like this

the RBC barely fits in EP3....pretty sure its right up against the rad.... some one k20a.org did it tho...if you have a k20a motor see my above post

no it won't just bolt on - see above posts

in that issue they used a PRC (ITR) IM on a tsx - so you'll need the hasport adapter (between IM & head - for the coolant flow)...if they had used the 06 si head (RBC) it would have bolted on
the IM pictured above (by nikos & I) is RBC (euro accord type r/'06+ si) thats bolt on - on TSX heads...see my above post to make fit jdm k20a type r/usdm k20a2 heads
the RBC IM will hold torque better after torque peak...larger whp gains can be found when you add cams... with no cams there is not much gain
I will see soon enough how this works with a type r k20a

how do you guys fit the rbc on there without having to make a custom eggr block off plate? i've seen rbc's with it built in, and some without, and that picture up there looks like the stock location for the thermo unit and such. anony help me?
