Default doubtful the mainshaft is spinning

it takes a bit of effort for it to move. The clutch disc itself moves easier
but it shouldn't be loose behind the pressure plate.

Putting the tranny back on takes a bit of practice -- especially if you
don't have a crane/lift to hold the weight of it up as you line it up.

I used a crane to hold mine up. Eyeball it to make sure it's on the
same horizontal plane with the engine. push it in very slowly to the
clutch disc. it should still look centered. if it doesn't go right in, then
you rotate the tranny slightly (right and left) trying to get the splines
to line up. or back it out, and spin the mainshaft a little by hand.

Good luck. I've spent a few hours trying to line up a tranny without
the crane. It's a complete bitch.

It might not be the best advice technichaly but it sure does help...

FRIENDS , call them tell them to give you a hand cause you doing it by yourself is going to be a big PITA.

I did this just by myself and its no one man job unless you have the equipment....
