Default Canadian Vs. US Spec Egs

So I came across this white 1992 Civic CX...only it had the black moldings on the side. So this leads me to guess that it is a Canadian spec CX. I also looked inside and noticed some vinyl seats? Whats going on with that? Can anyone shed some light on the subject?

Also,...yes it was a CX...or so the badge on the rear said.

The 92 cx comes with vinyl interior, and as for the side moldings, maybe
he put them on as an option from the dealer. Check the guage cluster
to see if it's Canadian, b/c it will be in KM

Check the rear window for a wiper - DX had one, CX/VX did not.

TRue all 1992 CX hatches had vinyl seats and vinyle door inserts too, so that's normal.

Side moldings? They could have been added, but they have to be the stick-on type because the CX/VX has only indentions and NO holes for the O.E molding clips to clip into.

Let us know - I'm curious now about Canadian-Spec hatches...

Canadian specs...i think, from what i see since i'm from Toronto:

CX- 3 spoke steering wheel, vinyl interior, no TACH, no airbags, no power steering,
no passenger side mirror, no front lip, no rear wiper, no mouldings but has other black trim spoiler, mirrors, handles etc. 13" steeles

DX- 3 spoke steering whell (optional airbag), cloth interior, no Tach, power steering,
has rear wiper, has passenger side mirror, no front lip, complete black exterior plastic trim etc....13" steeles and hubbies

VX- same as DX just has economical motor, comes with 13" alloys, and front lip.

Si- Dual Air bags, upgraded cloth interior, pockets in door panels, Tach, power steering, mirrors, sunroof,
has rear wiper has complete trim except mouldings, handles and mirrors are color coded, but spoiler, skirts and lip are black,
comes with 14" steeles with hubbies, optional AIR, 1.6 SOHC VTEC

thats as much as i know, fellow candians may correct me if i'm wrong.
hope this clarifies some stuff.

NO airbag at all?

You say that the non-airbag equipped Civics in Canada have a 3-spoke steering wheel?

Does anyone have a picture of these "CDM" non-airbag steering wheels?

I never knew that there were any differences between the USDM and CDM Civics from 1992-1995 other than an Si coupe with roll-up wondows rather than the USDM EX coupes with power windows.

only 94-5 Si came with airbags, the other years had the 4 spoke wheel for 92-3, since 93 VX came with optional airbag, also 92-3 came with a 3 spoke wheel (ala JDM spec)
also DX had the optional tach and VX always had a tach

canadian CX had also the same motor as USDM DX (as well as the tranny) but the gas tank is also the same size

canadian 3 spoke steering wheel is the same as JDM specs (minus the leather wrapping around)
anyone wants one in dark blue only $40US shipped
