What's your engine code (assuming it has a stock engine)?

Okay... go out to your car. Find the VIN on the driver's side dash. Look through the glass to see it.

Write that down on a piece of paper. Make sure it's right (sometimes it's hard to read).

Now go back inside and get online. Go to Carfax.com. Type in you VIN. The site will tell you what it is.

Does the cluster have a tachometer or not? The VX cluster has a tachometer with a 6000 rpm redline, the CX does not have a tachometer.

This remind me the CX DX thread a while ago.

Both CX and VX look very similiar.

How to ID if it a VX.
Exterior: Factory front lip, 13" alloy rims, rear diffuser on the rear driver side

Interior: Cluster include a tachometer redline @6000RPM

Let me rephrase that. Only Frost white Si came with black interior. DX CX VX Frost white came with blue interior.

Not 100% sure on the DX. Someone want to confirm that.

its a cx. CX is the only one ( i think) that came with the black vinyl seats.

Simple question to answer your question.

Do you have vtec?
if you have vtec its a vx. if you dont have vtec its a cx.

aLSO LOOK AT YOUR O2 SENSOR IF IT HAS 5 WIRES ITS A VX. IF IT DOESNT ITS A CX.

It's because your CX is red.

seats, interiors, engines and pretty much everything else can be swapped.

read the VIN imprinted on the firewall.
the number in position 8 will tell you what it was originally.

USDM hatchbacks
4=CX
5=DX
8=SI
9=VX (6 on CDM)

sedans
4=DX
5=LX
8=EX-V(CDM only)
9=EX (EX-V w/ABS&SRS CDM)

Coupes... good question, they skip over them in the 92 Helm

They're skipped in the 1992 Helms because there are no 1992 coupes.
