Same amount that you'd spend on one that does. Meaning, any coilover can blow or not blow, it depends on how good you are at following directions and using common sense.

Look into koni yellow, they will handle 1.8" without a problem. They go for around 500 though.

Most OEM replacement struts/shocks are not designed to be installed on cars that are dropped that much- probably more than an inch or so. There are people that run them like that and may or may not have problems- it depends on how you drive the car and the roads you run.

If you must run that low, you can have Koni shorten the shocks to retain some suspension travel before the shock/strut bottoms out and blows.

It says what they'll cover...this is the main reason I'm going w/ Koni as opposed to other companies.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
KYB America LLC warrants the listed quality-built products for the listed time period and/or mileage to the original retail purchaser against defect and wear-out when used on private passenger cars and light trucks under normal operating conditions. The warranty does not apply to shock absorbers which have been modified, improperly applied or installed, or installed on vehicles used in racing or for commercial applications. The warranty is void if the product is used on excessively lowered (over 1.5") vehicles or in an aftermarket coilover suspension system.

KYB's obligation under this warranty is limited to replacement of the defective shock absorber in accordance with this warranty. Cost of removal and installation are not included.

</TD></TR></TABLE>

This is one of the main reasons I am going to buy Koni's. Most other companies have similar warranties to KYB
