Tach not working??
took car into the shop to get it rewired for b16a.......now tach isnt working........
i've heard this problem occur often, so does anyone have an ideal?????

Tach signal is typically taken from the igniter.
Perhaps somewhere along the way they didn't reconnect whatever connector they disconnected that carries this signal to your tach. (
- how do you like that wording)
Since it seems you don't have a factory manual for your ride, I'd suggest to start tracing where the wires go....assuming that its a connector that goes nowhere, you will have easily solved your problem.

No, there is a wire that is out or loose or the tach would be working

check the harness on the drivers side of the engine bay near the firewall. i dont know the color code of the wires or i would give more detailed instructions on what to do. keep watching this thread i know someone around here knows the wiring colors.

someone told me that i have to run a wire from the distributor to the back of the dash.......
both blue wires.......im not sure what he talking about cuz i dont see a blue wire from the distributor.......but is this correct?

if you have indiglos, that could be a problem too. sometimes the face will slide down over a period of time and rest on the needle, not allowing it to move. just another idea.

Whoever told you it needs to be wired directly to the distributor is correct. The shop could've tapped into a dead wire and not checked it. Sorry I don't know the wire coloring
