Default d15z1 and d16z6 compatibility

posting up for a friend.

" I'm building a d16z6 to put into my 91hb but when i got the motor it was missing the dizzy, injectors, map sensor, o2 sensor and some other stuff. The thing is my friend is pulling his d15z1 out of his vx, and putting a b18c1 in. He said i could have anything off the z1 i wanted. Can i take those things off the z1 and be put into my z6 (mainly the dizzy). What would be some thing to take just for spare parts...i know im taking that vtec solenoid "

cliff notes : friend is putting a z6 into his EF and wants to know if any parts from a z1 (vx) motor are swappable so he can save some cash.

thanks fellas.

Everything can be mooched for sure except the distributor, I am not to sure if they share the same flange.

Dizzy fits for sure. VX dizzy is the same as a Z6 dizzy. Not sure about the other stuff.

VX injectors are 190 cc or 180, I forget which, but one of those I believe.

Def not the o2 sensor, it's a 5 wire wideband, and the z6 ecu can't use it.

oh well.

but for the most part the dizzy would be the most cost saving swap over
and at least that works.

You can prolly sell the wideband from the d15a1 for more than 100 bucks though,

A new 5wire o2 sensor for a VX costs between $180-300. $300 from Honda, $180 aftermarket. These are needed for VX drivers and tuners who want wideband o2 sensors.

A more realistic number is $50 b/c I'm sure your o2 has some use, but I'm sure you could find someone on ebay to buy that sucker.

Everything else should work just fine. Do yourself a favor and get a new o2 for your engine and enjoy the ride.

BTW, I once found a dizzy on ebay for a d15z1 for $10. Knowing what is combatible really helps finding those parts.

Also let him know that he can probably sell his z1 engine. A lot of people are starting to be interested in the d15z1 swap for fuel economy. This is especially true for an engine with only 80k on it.
