Default 92-93 to 94-96 el gauge cluster conversion

my friend w/ a 95 prelude crashed his car and he's selling me his el gauge cluster w/ wiring and dimmer box for $50 and i was wondering if it's just plug and play. All the parts are still in his car so what exactly do i need to remove from his car in order for the el gauge cluster to work in my 93 lude? Also, where do i detach the wiring harness from his car? Thanks

yes, its completely plug and play. i recently converted the guages, its worth the time and effort... its a little difficult to work the harness out of the car especially if his car has an alarm.
good luck, hit me up if you have any questions.

it ISNT plug and play UNLESS you take the whole dash harness. which i recommend you do or else you will be splicing wires and doing a lot of work that will take you hours, i have done it both ways and i recommend the dash harness after the extensive extra labor that wasnt necessary. if you decide to do the splicing way i recommend searching it because there are write ups on it. if you do get the harness and hook it all up you will have one plug on the right side that doesnt plug into anything you have to take that black wire and hook it to the ground or else your blinkers and things wont work other wise everything is good to go. hope this helps

i forgot to mention that i have the 92-93 fog light switch installed in the tweeter so will that be problem since the fog light switch for the 94-96 lude is located on the e-brake console.

i think it's called an inverter assembly, not dimmer box. It's what powers the el gauges. I'm buying the el gauge cluster from a friend but it's still in his car so i don't have any pictures of them. Does anyone know if the 92-93 fog light harness (attaches to the fog light switch located in the driver side tweeter) is seperate from the 94-96 dash harness that i need to install to get the el gauges working?
