Did the test, IGN coil/Ignitor. B16 and what to use?
The ignition coil did not put enough voltage, it only put out 11.89 V and the spec says +12V, also the resitance of the primary coil was 0.4 ohms and the spec is 0.6-0.8 ohms. and resistance of the secondary coil was less then a spec as well. The ignitor i tested with a test light by hooking up the positive lead from it to the positive terminal of the battery and the negative lead of the test light to the negative screw of the coil. The light was lit and it suppose to flash while cranking but it didn't. So it's faulty.
Now i'm a little stuck in between. I have a b16 and what coil and ignitor do i use? I called up the acura dealer and he gave me the price for them, i quoted the parts from b17. He said b17 and b18 second gen use the same parts in the distributor. The price of both of these parts came up to $190 CDN. The shops around here sell the whole aftermarket distributor for $190 CND.
What do you guys thinki i should do get the aftermarket distributor or buy the ignition coil and ignitor from a dealer?

Go with the full dizzy unless you can get the other parts super cheap.
It's almost always smarter to just replace the dizzy, because once one part goes out other parts start going out as well, then before you know if you have spent way too much on internals for your dizzy when you could have just bought a new one.
That's what I would do at least.

That's what i was thinking as well. Plus i get the cap and the rotor and a warranty. Wheres the dealer gives you no warranty on the electrical parts.
Ok, problem fixed. Most likely faulty ICM as i stated above. I ended up replacing the whole distributor.
Thanks for the replies.
