ok the motor is a 2000 GSR (b18c1)

the time ive had this car occasionally it would surge, when i hit a bump or somthing and cause the redline to become 3500

while i cant rev it about 3500 it becomes dog **** slow and backfires alot

recently the spark plugs and distributor were replaced and i also noticed that ive been blowing alot of ECU fuses (15A) and ive just replaced them with 20A fuses to stop that **** from happening again..

now its getting even worse, to fix the problem all i had to do was restart the car, now it wont even work...i'd end up sitting there restarting the car all day long

just today it was backfiring like a ************ and wanting to die but i just held my foot on the gas pedal, i pulled over and checked the fuses but nothing, then when i tried to restart the car it wouldnt click over and once it finally did i let go of the key.....but it didnt wanna start, it actually sounded like a ******* food disposal in your sink, i yanked the key out and it made this sound for 2-3 more seconds then it stopped...then it started right back up...

parts replaced all the time

anyone have any idea what this **** is?

oh, and im never showing a CEL and the ECU is not chipped

Well, it's definitely something electrical. I remember I'd blow my ECU fuse when my O2 sensor disconnected and I dragged it through the road for a 20 miles. You can have wires shorting out somewhere. Check all the wiring from all areas of the vehicle you've worked on for frays, etc. Hopefully, you find the problem from a recent parts installation.

Changing the ECU fuse from 15A to 20A I hope isn't a permanent solution to your problem. You may have to chase all your wiring in your motor going to the ECU. Not exactly an exciting thing to do...

hahaha, and what would tranny fluid cause?

it could be something with your ignition system for the 3500 rpm redline. check to see if and wires are touching each other(starter, terminal cables...ect).

 

wow the same **** happened to me over the summer. i remeber i hit a bump and my car sarted redlining at exactly 3500 rpm's **** was sooooo wierd. my friend told me to reset the ecu by unpluging the bttery overnight. it worked. about 2 week later it happened again nd i reset it....every week or so it would happen untill i sold itt.....i would like to know wat causes it

 

anyone happen to know where i can find a wiring diagram for a GSR into a 97 EK?
