Question about No Check Engine Light? Possible oil burning?
Ok...I have an Idea that my car is burning oil. I just lost my timing belt and we put a different head on the car along with the new belt. We also notice that the rings were shot on my pistons so we replaced those (aftermarket pistons that's why only the rings). No when I step on the gas and shift the car leaves a small cloud of smoke that's sort of blackish gray (almost looks blue). I checked my dipstick and the oil level was ok. Now if I were burning oil shouldn't my O2 sensor set off? Its not. Anyone have any other ideas?
by car is burning a lot of oil, i am not sure if its the piston rings or valve guide seals yet.
SOMETIMES when i rip it, i see white smoke, there is NO tint of blue in it so i dont know 100% if its my rings.
no check engine shows, but i get blow-by on my bumper sometimes. hope this helps

damn...this **** is pretty annoying because I looked everything over. Also..after the car idles for a while it starts to decline in rpm and eventually shuts off.

no; tegs are known to burn oil, and the o2 sensor code/engine light won't be triggered.
are you running an aftermarket/chipped ecu?
perhaps you should check if you are running rich, and check your compression/leakdown.

Also I've been watching my oil and coolant levels and there is no change. Could all this smoking be from bad timing? The car drives fine other than that stupid idle problem.
