Default 88 civic suspension

Ok, I know that this topic is discussed frequently, and I did search, but I just want to ask a specific question. I don't have the $$ for performance shocks like illuminas, but I riding on blown out shocks right now, so anything is better. Can some kyb gr2's or tokico blues handle 1.5 inch drop sprint springs? Is that a recommended combo, or should I just go all stock?

I love my KYB GR'2s. They can take any drop, you just void any warranty's if you go lower then 1.5. On my teg and my civic I use them at 2.0 skunk's

How long have you had that setup? I have heard that gr2's are stock replacement. Of course they can handle any drop, but how long will it last?
