Default What suspension set up for smoothest ride

Hi,

I'm new to car suspensions and I was wondering which springs/shocks/struts or whatever to get to have the smoothest possible ride. A slight drop too. How will the ride compare to stock? Anyway to make it better? much better?

Thanks

H&R Sport. Better handling, looks alright, installed with good shocks (such as KYB AGX (adjustable)) you'll have fun. Still smooth, but you can get a little harder with shock setting. Keep us updated

nope, they're a little stiffer than stock. it also depends on what type of shocks you are going to pair them with.

i've heard of neuspeed's sofsports giving a small drop and maintaining the stock ride. but i have no experience with them.

no, my 17 inch wheels make the ride rougher. and no I will not sell my wheels and get 16" flat black rota slip streams or whatever else YOU want me to get.

Damn. I have heard people say this and that about lowering springs being better than stock ride but I don't think you will find that with a dropped ride Besides its gonna look like **** (4x4) if you don't go low enough with the 17's.

if you want a soft ride w/ a drop, find a spring that comes in a progressive rating. aftermarket linear-rated springs are usually stiffer than stock. my sprints are progressives, and they ride really smooth for the 3 years i've had them on now.

My H&R Sport on the 92 hatch rides almost as stock springs did, with a better handling.

aftermarket suspension is only going to make the ride rougher. stock is as soft as it's ever gonna get. you could take the stock suspension off a really high milage civic or something if you want it to be softer.

If your goal is for the smoothest ride possible, stick with stock, but something thats gonna be close, would be something like Eibach Prokits, which are not as stiff as the H&R and KYB AGX's, keep the setting at 2F and 4R. You should feel something very close to stock. The only difference would be, that you'll feel every bump, you won't feel it hard, but you'll feel it. Good Luck.
