ALTERNATOR HELP !!!
ok ive been trying to remove the alternator for a while now. it doesnt come up through the top. it hits withe the master cylinder. And it doesnt come out through the bottom either. help whats the fastest way to remove it. i have a 90 civic hatch si with a d series swap . thnx
it comes out the bottom, remove the plastic guard and it should come down through there. haven' t done it in a while , but i did mine yesterday on a DA integra and had to remove the axle, that was a bitch, especially in freezing cold.
out the bottom. no need to touch the axle.
rotate the alternator with the pulley facing up and the bottom facing out. it slides out that way perfectly like the solution to a puzzle.

hey guys i took off the braket and still theres no space it hits the axle im running a sohc zc vtec on my hatch i just think because the chassis is different, my frind has the same motor on his 93 coupe and it just comes out through the bottom. i think im going to have to remove the master cylinder. Do you know if im going to have to bleed my whole brake system again?

If you unbolt the lines, you'll have to bleed the system. That's why I take out the axle. You may be able to bend the lines and not take them off, but I've never done it, so don't listen to me.
ok i unbolted the 12 mm bolts that go to the booster but it still doesnt clear and i dont want to put any stress to the brake lines. so im thinking of taking the 2 10 mm bolts that go to the master cylinder and then taking off the master cylinder.
