lets say we take a obd1 1995 ls and gsr unmodified with everything stock that has

1.8L, 4 cylinder, 16 valve, DOHC(vtec)
redline: 6800 RPM,8100RPM
HP:142(ls),170(gsr)
TQ:127(ls),128(gsr)
0-60time : 7.6 sec(ls),7.2 sec(gsr)
1/4mile:16.1 sec(ls),15.5 sec(gsr)
MPG:25/30 mpg(ls),25/31 mpg(gsr)

and compare these 2 with american made 4 cyl cars that were made in the same year or year before(after) that have similar engine specs and see how much power they make

 

American cars and integra's are apples and oranges.

There is better and more advanced technology in integra's, and they last longer. However, then are given small motors.

American cars have less technology and are low quality, but they give you a v-8 dirt cheap.

Comparing american cars with similar sized n/a engines to integra's is laughable, because they don't even come close performance wise.

There was an article that compared the rsx with 4 or so other cars all of which were forced induction. THE RSX WON.

 

if you want to go by numbers then you can put the neon as a competitor:

2448lbs curb weight
27/33 mpg

...would i buy one...? Probably not ever, but that's just me.

but as the person above said...these are two completely different cars. The build quality, driveability, technology, and various other things are completely different. Performance-wise they're in the same class and i'm sure with enough modification they can both overtake each other in one way or the other...choose your battle and choose your weapons, different cars are suited for different purposes.

my neigbor has a 99 Lexus LS 400 and his wife has a Ford Crown Victoria (idk the year)

But he says he doesn't fill up as much as his wife does and they both have V8s

I dont know **** about American cars but I can say that they dont ride better than imports

Tha sad thing is that its a 2.0 litre and should make more than 150hp. The best thing i could think to compare to would be the svt focus but it wasnt around in 95.

Um...isn't this what they do in just about every other issue of Car & Driver, Road & Track, and Motortrend? There is nothing new to be gained here in this thread other then speculation.

 

ok wanna compare stock american cars 4 cylinder to stock honda 4 cylinder....

srt4...forged internals...can be boosted to hell and wont break...runs low 14's high 13's stock

ill be awaiting the response from honda....so far all theyve made are peppy cars in the high 14's....mr dodge has his warranty running 13's....you break into the low 14's an honda dealership wont look at that turbo charged honda...

this thead is pointless and needs to be locked because too many honda owners are getting butt hurt when someone says honda isnt the end all to performance

N/A power is more impressive than FI power. Thats why i chose the svt focus for comparison. The srt4 would be better compared to a fi import like a silvia or something.

I had plenty to say if you read my previous posts. So what ppl think their 15 second cars are fast why should you care, so far all youve done is cause commotion. If dont like this thread then dont post in it.
