Default bottleneck question

hey wassup .. on my integra gsr, i have a apexi n1 catback which is 60mm .. i never thought about getting a 2.5inch header because i have to worry about CA smog but now i changed my mind .. i m now planning on getting a 2.5 inch header and test pipe .. my question is that is it really worth the trouble to change the catback to 2.5 inch also ? .. or am i good to go with 2.5 - 2.5 - 2.36 ?

It depends on what else you have done to your car, and you plan on doing as well. If you just have the basic bolt-ons, i/h, then a 2.5-2.36 is fine. Once you start doing more to your car, then i would consider getting a 2.5" exhaust.

i m looking for about 180 to 190 whp .. should i upgrade or not ? .. i really do want to upgrade but because i wasnt planning for a 2.5 inch setup .. i got the apexi n1 brand new and so i dont really feel like letting go of it unless it will bottleneck my cars potential

For your goal, i would go with a 2.5" exhaust.

your setup will be fine, a small change like that will not affect any thing until you are making big power.

2.5-2.36 is nothing. dont even worry about it. you would never know there was a difference. no sense in buying a whole new exhaust.

you're talking a 0.14" difference in diameter. that's like a ridge the size of your fingernail going around the inside of the pipe. you can make up the hp by cleaning your air filter.

After doing some searching, it seems that your 2.5-2.36 is just fine.
