Tach not working, Help!
i swapped a new engine into my car and the tach hasent worked since i did it, make sure your new engine harness isnt from an automatic engine because it wont have the leads for the tach already there and you'll have to route one, but im no expert since i still havent gotten mine to work,
id take off the gauge if i were you and see if everything is hooked in, if it is you might want to assume your tach is broken

ok, here is more detail on the problem, the obd2 motor is a manual trans also so thats not the problem, the gauge itself is new so thats not the problem, i am sure its just the wiring difference from obd1 to obd2, I have very good wiring diagrams for both generations, but they are so hard to figure out, im just looking for someone that can simplify the problem so I can just isolate the signal wire and see where the problem is.

00-01 teg's tach signal comes from the ECU not the distributor.
Run the blue wire from the distributor to the drivers side plugs and it will work.
