turbo or supercharger?
Ok, last night.... wrx with an upgraded turbo, front mount intercooler and some other goodies raced me. Beat me by like 3 cars. Not bad for some rich 30 year old living w/ his mom. Anyway, he will soon meet his demise! i have a 91 si w/a b16a in it. Should i go supercharger, or a turbo kit? talkin about jackson racing supercharger or an f-max or similar kit.
i recommend rev hard turbo kits.. fmax's are pretty good but ive had great experiences with rev hards. with that, some good driving and a good clutch in your crx, you should be able to spank the wrx without a problem at stock boost on a kit.
I don't know, man. it all depends on you. Are you an all motor guy or do you want some boost in your life? If you like the all motor setup, I'd get rid of that 1.6 bottom end and drop in a b20, do a little work on that and top end. Spend about half of a turbo setup (good one wit fuel mods/tuning) and be around 230hp/160lb torque. I'm giving you some numbers off the top of my head and of setups I have seen on dyno's.
If you are leaning towards boost, I'd say FMAX, RevHard, or Drag. Can't go wrong with any of them. FMAX is quite expensive, RevHard has problems with cracked manifold, and Drag is pretty stable. Out of all the kits, you do need fuel upgrades, and yes, more than the junk they provide. I only say junk in the kindest of terms, it's just that the fuel side of the kit isn't really adequate for the power you'll be pushing. Just my .02

I thought that drag had the problems with the cracking manifolds..or maybe I am talking out of my ***.
But to answer your question, I would definitely go with the turbo.

now, would i be safe running 8psi on stock internals if it was properly tuned? i just got a walboro 255 ltr/hr pump installed couple days ago, and fuel guage and regulator.
