Default Need some advice with HIDs

I know HIDs have been covered and I already know about hidplanet.com. My situation is just a little different.

My friend bought me a 9006 HID kit. He wanted to install them so bad, we did, but I don't have projectors. So I have my lights aimed like right at the ground so the glare doesn't blind people.

I'm just wondering what kind of projectors I will need. I don't have a lot of money to spend on this, and I don't really want to spend any money really, but I know I have to get some projectors.

What is the best advice you guys can give me?

Glare comes with the territory.

eBay projector headlights are garbage.

The only aftermarket headlights with projectors that I'd recommend would be TYCs.

But you'd have to get rid of your 9006 bulbs, and swap in some H4s.

Yeah the TYC are some boss shizal lol all the other ones i cant say much about i only go with TYC because all other light brands seem to leak water even if you put silicon on it to seal it. (clear_)

Yes, sir.

I might be wrong about the bulbs for the TYCs. They are either H1, or H4.

And here are the TYCs with a 6000k HID kit.

tyc's are h1

if you want some real cutoff without all that mad glare and hotspots just swap out the projectors with some tsx, tl's, s2k's, etc.

hids on stock halogen tyc projector still won't give the sharp cutoff of a real hid projector

comparison with 5300k hid kit

stock projector

audi tt projectors retroed in tyc

retro

stock

This is why I didn't mention a retrofit.

After everything was said, and done with mine, I spent almost $1k.

He shouldnt have bought an HID kit, that's my advice.

You can pick up projectors, ballasts, and bulbs, everything, from HID planet for less than 400, and get them retrofitted. Otherwise you're gonna get crap. I sold my HID kit and replaced them with HiR bulbs.

TYC's will likely be best for what you're looking to do.

I had some Audi ECE d2s's retro'd into my headlights and dropped about 700 by the time it was all said and done... but I'll never go back!

Ballasts with bulbs (Hella) $400
New projectors (Hella) $200
New wire harness that I made $40
and lights $200
Taxes and shipping $60

So I won't be able to use my 9006 bulbs in the TYCs correct? And do you know of anyone on here selling a used set of TYC headlights? I couldn't find any used ones on ebay, they're all brand new. And like I said, I'd rather buy used ones because I don't have a lot of money to spend.

Thanks guys.
