Why is it nessescary to losen the bolts on the rockers when replacing a head gasket?
It's only necessary on twin cams when the cam is in the way, with most honda single cams the head bolts are on the sides and easy to get the 14mm socket on
Very important: when you remove the head bolts, it has to be in a certain sequence. I don't know what it is excactly for your engine, but it's usually starting in the middle and alternating either left to right or right to left working your way to the outside. when you re-install the bolts it needs to be done in a similar sequence; middle to outside with a tourque wrench making sure that the bolts are all torqued equally.
Why, you may ask? Because if you don't, you will warp your head and your motor will never be the same... that is if it even runs.
If you already knew all of this, cool. I just don't want to see anyone else ruin their motor like a freind of mine did by not following all of the steps.
