Default must see for everyone riding on coils ...

well im currently riding on tein ss-p
ride is excellent, rear could be stiffer though
anyways, i started getting a creaking noise whenever i turned my wheel hard about 2.5 months ago
i was too lazy to check what was up, but went over to my friends house 2 days ago to check it since he has an air compressor and all the goodies
this was what we found
before: same side, install day. (i hate that stupid dent)

after: wtf, are you kidding me. BOTH nuts holding the strut and brake in place fell off. ive been riding on 2 bolts for almost 3 months

heres a pic of my sexay drop

so to those riding on coils, ALWAYS CHECK FOR PROBLEMS IF YOU HEAR OR FEEL SOMETHING DIFFERENT
hell, i'd check it every month just to be on the safe side

I've never had that problem with my Flex.
I always double check every bolt and nut when I work on a car. That just looks like someone forgot to tighten the nut all the way and it shaked free after time.

no ones fault really and Tein has always made good products.
Atleast you caught the problem before you had a real problem.

A friend of mine had the same problem except he had eibach springs and his bolt fell off. Poor install was the problem.

I fail to see what the product has to do with this.
Looks to me like whoever installed it screwed up and didn't torque the bolts down.

ya, im sure we just forgot to torque it down
all other sides were fine though
i tripped out when i saw the 2 nuts missing

also, i never blamed tein for producing faulty products
so to those riding on coils, ALWAYS CHECK FOR PROBLEMS IF YOU HEAR OR FEEL SOMETHING DIFFERENT
hell, i'd check it every month just to be on the safe side

yeah ,
I did the same thing; put the shocks on, raced a car on a curvy road with my gf in the car, and then found out that my tire was ready to come off at the shock. I would agree that it is a good idea to check all suspension parts regualarly. I honestly swear that I tourque my bolts down 100%. did I or didn't I? Is it really worth questioning

Agree...I learned a while ago this stuff helps keep stuff on the car. Its not a substitute, but its a great helper.

Only thing that happened on my wifes EP3 is the rear dust boots rubbed on the threads of the shock.
