Default Best way to change interior to black? Dash/Door Panels/Etc.

What is the best way to change an interior to black? (Dash/Door Panel / Etc.)

For example a Civic Hatchback 96-00 interior comes in grey. I would like to change mine to black.
I know that some will say to get the 99-00 SI interior but that is Dark Grey. I want my interior to be black.

Example:

What is the best way to do this? I know it can be painted, dyed or wrapped. Has anyone had any of these methods done on their car and how is it holding up?

Thanks

has anyone used black vinyl paint? was thinking of trying it on my EG interior - door panels, headliner, A-pillar trim (I got an OEM black dash...) but I don't want it to come out looking too shiny....

Well duh. The OP posted a pic of an EK4 that has black interior. More than likely Civics from different domestic markets had black dashes, like Panama.

Well you could try to find a black dash from one of those markets and then it would be easy from their on out to get the rest of the pieces in black..

for the dash i'd go with dye..spray paint and vinyl don't seem to like each other much. i'd try something called Krylon Fusion for the plastic panels..they "bond" to the plastic to it's pretty hard to get it to come off, unlike regular black spray paint

my old eg, it had blue vinyl interior. i bought some cheapo vinyl dye in a spray can from a local autoparts store. Stuff worked extremely well! in 4 years it still looks immaculate and oem. for the plastic pieces, take them to an autobody shop, they can do it for relatively cheap, and it wont flake. but i was suprised how well the cheap vinyl dye worked

Are the rear panels in an 99-00 Civic HB plastic?

I heard somewhere that the Dye will not work on the rear panels since they are made of plastic... Or will it still work?
