Which tranny is better???/
SO i have a ZC ready to put in. Now....Which is better the DX tranny or the ZC tranny???? I heard they are both the same but I'm not sure. I know the Si one is good but which is better ZC or DX???
Well, from what I hear, the ZC has very short gearing good for acceleration, but the DX will have a little longer gears and allow for better gas mileage on the highway. I have never experienced first hand a ZC transmission though.

Ive heard of the Hybrid kind of thing where u put the final drive off an si into a ZC which sound cool but pricey though...
thnaks guys but one more question. ZC uses the same civic axes right????

stock CRX?Civic axles will not fit the ZC transmission - the splined end that goes into the transmission is too small - ZC transmission requires using the ZC intermediate shaft and 90-93 Integra equal length axles

i have experieced both of the trannies we had a zc and we raced this one guy with a d16z6 and we beat him with the zc tranny and then we were sellin the car so we put the dx tranny in it and drove that around the next weekend and saw him and he wanted to race again and we lost with the dx tranny
sinple as this ZC tranny>DX tranny

That wouldn't be smart. The ideal D-series cable transmission is the ZC transmissions with ZC 1-4 gears, Hf 5th gear and Si Final Drive ratio.
The Dx and Si 1-5 gears are the exact same. Its the final drive where it differs.
As for the topic. ZC transmission vs Dx transmission. ZC wins all around except highway cruising. Put in an Hf 5th gear and the ZC wins in every aspect.
