Default all motor in a 00 civic si?

ive been thinking about going all motor lately... but i was just wondering if it was even a good idea to drop an all motor ls/vtec(b16 head) into a coupe?? hp #'s are not all that big to me as long as i get quick times on the 1/4 mile.... possibly into the 13's-12's... soo... is it worth it? if i do happen to go ls/vtec... i will have it built right or at least as best as i can and tuned.

thanks,
tony

sorry if this question was answered already...been searching for a bit and couldnt really find anything...or maby i just suck at searching >.<

Well i think you should care about hp numbers because without good horsepower and torque you really aint gonna go to fast.

what i meant by that was i dont really care to having big power numbers... cause it is a street car and i will be running street tires...i dont want to much hp and waste my tires....so i want a pretty quick dailydriven car.

you're not making any sense. you say you want to run 12's or 13's but you dont care about big hp #'s. heres a idea, drop in a 1.5 single cam, that will put you in 12's easily

maybe he really means, he's not aiming for a certain HP number...he just wants enough power to reach his 1/4 mile goal...dyno numbers are different every where you go, so he doesnt care what the dyno says, he just cares what the 1/4 mile times are...he can hit 12's with 240whp on a dynojet, or he can hit 12's with 200whp on a mustang...it doesn't matter to him, as long as he hits 12's...

how come no one answered the guys question? if you are gonan go for 13- and evens 12's you need a b20 block and around 2000$+ so you would rather go boosted if its your daily driver. well good luck on whatever you do

I can tell you....driving a high CR NA motor with big cams as a dialy driver ain't the best thign in the whole world...esp tryign to get it to crank up when its below freezing.

yeah i have a civic si... id rather go all-motor because my brother has a boosted car...and if i wanted boost i could just drive his.....but i dont want to go all-motor if its going to be slow in my heavy *** coupe... i know b20/vtec and ls/vtec's are fast in hatchbacks and stuff but would i be wasting my time by putting it into a coupe?

Put a K24/K20 setup in that coupe, it'll scoot for sure.

You gunna need ALOT of work to do 12s. Go turbo who cares what your bro already has. He'll be laughing at you after all the money you spend just to do high 13s-low 14s.

Its now common sense that all motor is for light cars and the em1 aint one of em. The k20 would be a very good choice for all-motor em1 but with the amount of money you'll spend you miight as well go fully built turbo.

yeah true... but i also see him running into a lot of problems and thats with a tune from a well respected guy in kansas..... and im pretty sure that all motor would be a more reliable issue for my first car for a while(im still 16)......
