? ? ? What's the best way to get a '00 Si up to 200 hp without F/I ? ? ?
I'd like to get my Si up to 200 hp, (At the Flywheel that is). I dont' want supercharge, turbo or nitrus. How much hp will I/H/E get me? And any other ideas to get me up to the 200 club. One more thing... are new camshafts recommended?? Thanks all....

imo, it would be way to much money to go all motor to go that route. you could buy a civic hatch and a h22 motor for the same amount and be faster.
with the new vortech FI. i would go that route
or you could to crv block and some other stuff. but your looking at about 5k to get that hp

200 hp to the wheels is pretty expensive to do for an SI
all i can think of is JUNs stage 3 package and raise the redline a little
all them simple boltons, i mean all every bit helps...and a good p&p job...u'll
be close to it...but a little more money and u got it...fine tuning will help alot

It's gonna be mostly in the head if you don't do a swap, I would think. Problem is you might end up with a hand grenade.

HEY, LET'S CLARIFY THAT...... i just wanted 200 at the flywheel, just lookin for 40 horse to make 160 into 200. Flywheel that is... i'm not that technical (doesn't have to be at the wheels)

talk to a guy on this board. i think his name is TODASI. hes got some power.
to get 200hp. probably still you will have to do engine work. cams and attached stuff should get you there. about 2.5k should do it
just curious but why not vortech? lotsa power for little money

Yes, possible. That is my goal with a b16a (1991), and what I have done that should go 175 to the tire is:
- CTR pistons
-ITR Intake Manifold
-ITR Cams
-Portflow (www.portflow.com) prepped head and valvetrain with milling of .030 to compensate for compression loss via combustion chamber prep(and metal loss)
-overbore stock throttle body to 62 mm
- AEM CAI which willl work better with car MOVING than on dyno
-Skunk2 cam gears
-DC 4:1 header
-ECU reprogrammed to Mugen specs with VTEC 5000 crossover
These should get you close with dyno tuning.....
BTW, I am hoping to put in my axles this weekend as I got the wrong AUTOMATIC axles from junkyard. I also have 2.5 inch exhaust with Dynomax Ultraflow muffler that may have to be changed (straight flow through), and "test pipe"...

I don't really want to do pistons but how much will intake manifold and camshaft get me.. like ~20 hp or how much. And does a Vtec change actually change horsepower or just give u crappy gas mileage??

ITR - intake mani and cams with tuning on the cam gears may get near to 20, but I am guessing about 15 or so. VTEC crossover was only changed UPWARDS because of my other mods but ECU may get you the other 5. You would def. feel all of this even if you do not go "into" the motor and postons and all....
