Original Clutch Lasted 90k!!!
Well after a few 9k launches in my siR this is what happened
-

But, i now have an exedy stage 1 clutch fitted and a 8lb lightened flywheel...
But now the bloody box won't mate up to the block as you can see in the pic below. Any ideas on why its being such a b**ch? I can't see it being stuck anywhere (on the bulkhead / intermediate shaft etc)... Its just sooooo annoying as its getting dark here in the UK around 4pm

So close, yet so far... Hopefully i'll get it sorted tomorrow...
Cheers for looking,
Ryan :D

make sure your not trying to put the immediate shaft on at the same time... or else it will be a bitch...
you just have to keep wiggling and eventually the splines will line up.
Have a friend from up top help you.

Make sure the transmission is in neutral..
If not,its locked, the engine is stationary
and the two have a hard time meshing together...

Yeah, definatly neutral. I had a similar problem, it was just the input shaft being a bitch and not lining up in the bearing in the flywheel. Make sure the engine and transmission are level (or on the same plane). Just a SMALL diffrence in the level or angle will throw you off.

everytime i have ever swapped a motor/clutch. I always run in to the problem. First make sure your clutch is aligned properly, Next eye ball your tranny up to the block ( as good as you can get it ) and then put the car in gear and turn the tire which will turn the input shaft and put you right on the money and the tranny will come together just as pretty as you have ever seen.
