Don't ask why, but while dismantling my instrument cluster, I came across this...

ive heard about ford parts being on 6th gen accords.....thats why i avoid that car like the plague

 

If I didn't know it was my own curiosity messing things up all the time, I'd blame those parts for all my troubles.

dude my cluster does not have that, I've had it apart many many times.

I think we've now found the cause of your no-start condition!!

 

Well I've had three different clusters now. This being the latest one, of which I have only removed the plastic cover, not torn to pieces like the others. Also the first one to have this atrocious insignia on it...

3 clusters?? man may I ask why?

 

First one was screwed over by my father's friend while he tried to install gauge faces by REMOVING the needles. This happened while I was 9,000 miles from home, made for a nice welcome home surprise present. The second I still have, but pulled it when my tach started acting up, at which time I purchased a third, that did nothing but replicate the problem. This will be the topic of my next thread.

 

I'm starting to lose faith in my Honda! If you tell me they started to make the transmissions I'm going to **** myself. I bought this car to get away from the american crap!!!!

 

My old 97 toyota truck had a GM radiator in it. I will bet you this. You will never open the hood of a Honda and find an engine with that symbol on it.

You must burn the cluster immediatelly.... or the disease could spread inside the car...

 

The anachronism Found On the Road Dead has taken on a whole new meaning (at least as far as certain 6th gen Honda's I know............)

now that Ive seen this, im checking my accord... god forbid, I will be getting new gauges, haha

 

my friggin accord is Fix Or Rpair Daily so I feel the pain. but it's mostly my fault, not the poor car's. it's just rebelling against the abuse.

ford is like rust.... car cancer.

 

And this was the only one out of three clusters that had this insignia... gonna try to fix an old one to replace it.

 

now i felt sad how honda america used some cheap parts for our honda cars....

 

I hope my car doesn't have that either

Actually the 6th gen trans they had help from GM on the unit from what I understand. This would explain why the units have substandard parts in them........

 

On the manual too? Haven't heard too many horror stores about F-series manuals.
