I think somebody in the allmotor forum was getting them pretty damn cheap...

Even k24's iirc.....

You sick of the boost yet?

LOL...you just said like a week ago "no thanks" to building one.

I think you're never going to be satisfied with your ITR; why don't you get rid of it?

Sorry to take the thread off-topic but your threads always make me laugh. Apparently you're too cool to just mod your B-series and enjoy your car like everyone else.

I agree with you to an extent but he never said he was going to K his car. Who knows, it may be information for his work at KAP. Im not siding with him, Im just being technical.

Yeah true. Although if it were for a friend, he could have said that in his second post. Seems like he doesn't want to be held over the fire for his stellar post history over the years, culminating in, "which drag slicks can I run on the street?" And to top it all off, he comes in like a n00b, saying "who sells them cheap?" funny that a guy with a $60,000 Integra that can't go WOT is trying to save a few pennies on a new motor.

I've been driving my car for 5 years with minimal mods, and I never understood why people felt the need to fundamentally change it. If you're that unhappy with the car, just get something else.

I know, at least for me it wouldn't matter what car I got, I'd be modding it. Yes even a Lambo/Ferrari or whatever. If I've got the money to afford a car like that, I've got the money to mod it. Besides, it then makes your car unique to you. I say do what you want, even if you like altezzes and spinners.

I did. I don't kiss people's *** just because they have a ton of money sunk into their cars.

It's sad when I see someone modify a good ITR beyond repair, since I take the long view and see it as a collector car. It was one of the best cars ever made, and in 10 years you won't be able to find a good one, just because kids like Jordo couldn't decide how best to impress their peers. That infuriates people like me, who want to see the breed maintained.

Jordo, you should ask George Knighton about this. He's putting a K20 in his car and knows about some shipment of TSXs that fell off a train somewhere.

There are those (like myself) who are of a different mind...

It's just a civic underneath everything. Granted, I love it more than say an ls or gsr but that's just me. And if I wasn't modding this car, I'd be modding whichever one you're recommending I should've started with in the first place.

Besides, it can be made "better" since I don't care for those compromises honda made to sell to our market.

To each his own, but I certainly won't tell him what to do with his car.

If he wants to set it on fire, that's his perogative.

Ross, do you pay my bills? why do you even care? Just because you cant understand something, doesnt make it wrong. You sound completely ignorant.

Btw: what ever happened to the golden rule? if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all?

I like the b, if it ever blew I would contemplate the k. I'd probably just go back to the b though. I cant justify bastardizing the car to put a motor in.

No, you just have too much money and time on your hands.

That argument is intellectually dishonest. Is an E36 M3 CSL any less of a car because it shares a platform with a 318ti?

Well, for me, it was a relatively easy decision. I knew I wanted to build an H1 car out of an ITR. Why? Because I love the ITR. Always have, always will. I also knew that I prefer staying as OEM in regards to the "heart" as possible. Hence, the K motor. Yes, it's definitely more money than a mild build on the C5, but to me it was worth it.

To add, the car is just plain awesome now. It was great before, but now, wow.

I knew you were gonna reply...

Your car is awesome. Awesome to look at, I'm sure awesome to drive but damn my wallet burns thinking about the money spent. I have no problems with what someone does to there own car, all I can say is what I would do.

Franza's car is hottt fire!!!! That thing is cleaner than any car off the show room floor!!

LOL, thanks Jim.

Truth be told, I was able to recoup a good amount from selling many parts off of her. Although the timeline wasn't that long from start to finish, many long days and nights were spent during her "creation"

Thanks again for the compliments

Because somewhere out there, there's someone that would be able to enjoy your car the way it was when you bought it. I care because I love this car...you'll never catch me saying there's anything about it that isn't good enough for me.

I've noticed your posts over the years, and it seems as though your ITR spends a lot of time sitting in the garage while you try to make it perfect. Just drive the damn thing and you'll be happier. With all the money you've got in it, you could have bought another, faster car, or a few 9-second sportbikes.

I know it's not my place to give you advice or look out for your wallet, but when you come in to a public forum asking dumb questions and then totally changing course a week later, you're kind of asking for it.

I did give you the advice you seek. You wanted cheap K motors, I told you to ask George. Or Nikos, he's a K-motor guru.

I'd still go with a B, but that's just me. I like originality, and most older guys with nice collector cars do too.

If I wanted a sick K-motor build, I wouldn't bastardize a DC2R to do it. I'd buy an RSX or EP3 Si, and just build that. I may be ignorant, so maybe you guys should ask Jack Harris about it. He feels the same way, or at least he did.

My feeling is that all-original (or close to it) DC2Rs are so rare nowadays, and will be even more rare in the future, that I could never allow myself to let my car stray too far from stock form. Franza has been a friend of mine for years and is a really good guy, but I have sarcastically lectured him because he took two ITRs off the road for good to make all-conquering racecars out of. That's two more ITRs that can basically never see a public road again, in case I ever want another one.

Maybe I'm just too devoted to the car, but I can't see any other car that's as perfect and well-rounded as this ITR.
