can anybody recommend a tire that grabs hard, has alot of thread life, and is the best bang for your buck. i can only think of yoko es100's and azenis.
i know there are more tires out there but i am very unfamiliar. what do you guys recommend?

I think nsxtasy is going to agree when I say the yokohama es100 is an awesome tire for the best bang for the buck in an all around category. Also the new Kumho SPT is another one to consider. Not much is know about this tire since its still new. But I can tell you from experience nsxtasy told me not to get the Kumho 711 Ecsta and I should of listened to him and get the yokohama es 100 instead.
I tried the es100 very nice grippy street tire for sure my next tire this summer.

The Yokohama ES100 and the similar Kumho Ecsta SPT are both excellent tires, with very good performance and great "bang for the buck". Depending on the size you need, you can occasionally find other tires that may be just as good or better (such as the Toyo T1-R but only if you're looking for the 195/50-15 size which is on special at onlinetires.com). But it's pretty hard to go wrong with either the ES100 or the SPT.
If you want to spend a bit more for a bit more performance, you can consider the Kumho Ecsta MX or the Toyo T1-R (in other sizes). Spend even more and you've got top tires like the Goodyear F1 GS-D3. But all of these are usually significantly more expensive than the ES100 and SPT.
I don't recommend the Azenis (Falken Azenis RT-615) to those looking for tread life or "bang for the buck". It's a great, sticky tire, particularly for those taking their cars to autocrosses and/or track events. But its tread life is extremely short (you'll probably buy at least three sets of these tires for the same number of miles that the ES100 will last) so the "bang for the buck" goes out the window because of this.
