I got a valve adjustment, and my car stalls now when I am driving and push the clutch in... the RPMs just fall, then the car stalls. it is more so when the car is cold. When it gets warm, it acts like it is going to stall, but then it doesn't stall often, but it will still stall about 1/4 of the time.

 

check to make sure none of the vaccuum hoses are mis-routed. Look around the head for anything that looks out of place or was forgotten during the job.

 

The same thing happened to me a while back. It was driving me nuts! I would press the clutch and the RPM's would go really low and most of the time the engine would turn off. The problems were:

1- incorrect valve adjustment
2- timing was off

After my friend fixed these elements, car runs perfectly and no more of those stalling problems

I have a JDM H22a and the valve adjustment for USDM and JDM H22a's are the same. I gave my helms manual to my friend and he used the parameters specified there.

Hm... you might want to bring it back and make sure they did hte valve adjustment right.. Cause if the adjustments are wrong it'll cause the engine to die also.

 

yep, this is alex... who are you? Ken? I am going to do the valve adjustment with a friend tomorrow. is it the same as on Tegs? if so, we shouldn't have a problem.

yep, I did it today... took me about 4 hours... They were all off. they were way too tight. Car runs fine, and when I put the last bolt on the valve cover, my new rims came :D I will post pix tomorrow if the camara is working. Thanks for the help guys! The clearance is 6-7 and 7-8.
