What Autopower role bar should I get? Need help from the hardcore head's.
Well I am gearing up for the Buttonwillow event at the end of the month the school that is and well now that I am head over heals in love with AutoX and Time trials I was thinking of safety. Now I know I am going to get flamed for having a race seat and 4pt harnesses in my car with out a cage of some kind
. SO I looked at Autopower bars and I was thinking of the Autopower race role bar with the removable center piece but I dont know if I should just go all out and get a 6pt cage.
The car is a daily driver and I am 6 ft 3" So I dont need something to get in my eye sight or crack my air filled head
. The car will see autoX dragg racing and time trials.
So what should I get?
IF I get the role bar will it prtect me in a role over I mean will I still get decapatated If I dont have bars up front.
I really need all of your guy's imput as I wish not to make anymore stuped purchases that I wish I would have done something else.
Thanks in advance

Getting decapitated was never the issue. Think CRUSHED.
I'd go with a 4 pt rollbar if the car is a daily driver.

I want to get the 4pt with removable braces also, but I was wonerding....
with the cross braces removed, is it still safe for passengers in the back seat, or will they jack their heads on the side bars in an accident?

I plan to, but is it still safe even padded?
Errr--- I mean don't carry rear passengers.
But if you're not going to carry in the people in the back, you may as well get the race rollbar. I personally wouldn't feel right allowing people to sit in the back of a car with a rollbar.
i really want to get the autopower removable bolt-in roll bar,
the downside im thinking about is the 60 lbs...
do they make a cromoly version of this?

If you want lightweight. Cusco makes a 30lb version...I can hook you up. But the thing is they are pretty hard to get approval from clubs.

I have heard arguments that the stiffining of the chassis balances out the 60 lbs. weight penalty.
I have been thinking about getting one as well, but the car is leased. I know it is removable, and I plan to buy the car at the end of the lease anyway, so am I crazy?

How much is the30 lb Cusco? any pics? how about availability?
IM fuzznuts as well, I kinda remember lending him the catalog, not sure....
And IM Racer-X for more specs, he knows Cusco better than most on this board.
If you do a search, there should be a thread that one of our member in Japan had the 6pt roll cage in his GSR.

Is the Cusco unit bolt-on or does it require some welding? Do any of the stock panels need to be trimmed?
Here is the thread with some pics of Cusco Roll Cage...they offer the bar/cage in many points configuration. Email the owner as he has the first hand experiences with them:
